Fall Greetings! I wanted to share my experience on this weeks Wally Weekender. While finishing up the photo shoot for our current project I turned around and saw a very sad little face! Wally was feeling badly because he was not invited to join in. Being the "sucker" I am for the little dude I had him "pose" for his picture. Meanwhile Opie wanted to know what was going on and jumped onto the table! They decided to inspect the project and we all gave up for the day! Next time I will not fall for that little cute face.......or will I?????

Woo Hoo! We had a blast! Tons of people visited wearing their cute aprons! We took pictures of a few of our favorites but by far, Becki had the best one. She was pretty brave to come and share it with us and even demonstrated how the "potholders" worked! If we had given out a prize for the best apron it would have been hard to pick! All of those that wore their aprons recieved a 10% discount on their orders. We also served chocolate and vanilla cakes with coffee! Yum! Caliber made several appearances that day and I almost wished I had made an apron for him to wear......................almost. The "Heart of the Home" was our raffle prize and the winner was Joany Knight! Next year plan on visiting us and join in the fun!

Monday I spent the day getting ready for our National Apron Day celebration! We had to order the cake, get the decorations, finish the apron samples and count the patterns. It was a busy busy day and all my helpers pooped out on me. Caliber was the purrfect example! Maybe next year I will have better helpers.........................

What a nice surprise! My family got together with our best friends and made the mother's breakfast! The day was beautiful so my friend Emily and I sat outside by the pool and our husbands and offsprings served us. We had vegetable and egg souffle, bacon/sausage (fake bacon for me), potatoes, waffles, fruit and muffins! Before breakfast they served Mimosa, yum! It was fun to watch all of them working together in the kitchen and listening to all the laughter. After breakfast they took us to the movies to see Iron Man! I wanted to get some quilting in but it didn't happen because after all that I needed a nap! I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day!
Our son's making waffles! Our daugher's being silly!

Some folks don't believe that Wally writes his own newsletter so I took a snap of him getting ready to write. Wally has his own view on life and it's always interesting to hear what he has to say. If you haven't signed up for our newsletter, it's worth it just to hear what he has to say. I know that he has something special planned for his Weekender tonight, so stay tuned!

Things are getting back to normal in the shop! The Maypole fabrics have been selling like hot cakes! I love that bright bold line, it's purrfect for summer totes! We are making plans for our National Apron Day next week. We have some really fun things planned for the shop! New aprons, cute fabric, treats, tea and more! Stay tuned for more info in our newsletter! Wally has been scoping the shop for his Weekender project tomorrow night. He has finally settle on a really cute one! It uses the new Shiki fabrics from In the Beginning and I whole heartedly approve of his choice! No more hints or he will be will be leaving me unwanted little droppings in my bed!!! Okay, time to share another one of our retreat recipes! Lemon Cake is my husbands absolute favorite dessert. It has a sweet and tart taste to it that true lemon lovers will adore! Give it a try and let me know what you think!

Saturday night we had a Mexican Fiesta complete with margaritas (non-acholic of course). The menu consisted of Enchilada cassarole, Taco Salad, refried beans and lemon cake for dessert! Everyone seemed to enjoy it and there wasn't much left over! For those of you that requested it, here is the Taco Salad recipe! Enjoy.

This last weekend was our 1st Annual Spring Quilt Retreat and what a terrific time we had. The location was great, the food was good, the light was excellent but the best part of all was the quilters! New friends were made all around and it was amazing to watch how everyone just blended. We sewed, laughed, ate, laughed, sewed, ate more laughing and a bit of sleeping! Be sure to check out the Quilt Show section of our web site to see more pictures of the retreat! I will write more each day and add a recipe or two of the food we had to offer. Reservations for next year were made by everyone that attended this year! We are going to add an extra day next year so we can get more sewing, laughing, eating, laughing, sewing, laughing and a bit more sleep. Did I mention laughing???

The sun is shining and it's almost warm........okay I am wishing it were warmer but it really is sunny! As we hoped Wally made a surprise visit to the shop today. He helped his furless Dad with the AccuCut machine and gave several of our hoppers some kitty kisses! There is so much to do to prepare for a shop hop and even as organized as you think you are, there are still so many things to do during the hop. We have been blessed with a great helper over the last few days, Brandon Z has been helping in any area that he can. From making survival kits, putting together pattern packets, cleaning, sweeping and bringing Caliber down when he is requested, he has done it all. Great job Brandon and many thanks!
