The Quilted Kitty is a web-based quilt shop. It was started in May 1999 by owner Nanci Quick. Quilting was a hobby with her. One day she ordered seven bolts of fabric and a few patterns from a distributor, threw them on her first website, and things just took off! The Quilted Kitty has customers on all seven of Earth's continents, and has grown into a "shop" that sells thousands of yards of fabric, books, patterns and more each year!
The Quilted Kitty has become a complete quilt shop. We offer everything you or your quilting enthusiast needs to quench his or her insatiable quilting "thirst". We have the newest patterns, books, notions, gifts and most of all FABRIC. We carefully plan our new product deliveries so that there is something new in the web shop almost ever day. Plus, we are open all the time, so you can "Shop in Your Jammies" at The Quilted Kitty!
As with almost everyone who makes their living in the quilting world, Nanci has a "previous life". She was a Human Resource Director for high-tech companies such as Atari, Rockwell International, and Tandem Computers when living in California. When her husband David decided to go back to medical school, and moved the family from California to Nebraska, she decided that she had had enough of the high stress, high tech world, took off her stockings, and placed her order with the distributor. The rest, to coin a phrase "is history". Nanci and David have two teenagers, Emily and Andrew, who keep Nanci moving in the "Mom-mobile" every afternoon!
Nanci has four erstwhile helpers who work with her every day in the shop. You know them as the "Furry Dudes" Caliber, Sidney, Opie and the infamous baby Wally. They help unpack orders, select kit fabric, and choose the "Idea of the Week" each week,. Their infectious enthusiasm just makes life around the shop happier and more upbeat.
The Quilted Kitty prides itself on a wide selection of the newest the quilt world has to offer. We have the best customer service of any quilt shop anywhere - either on the web or on a street: warm, friendly, and just sometimes just a bit furry! Our customers are our #1 priority!
